GiffGaff

As some of you may have seen. There is a couple of extra links in the sidebar for GiffGaff.

Now I recently moved away from the god awful Vodafone to pay as you go with giffgaff. Now giffgaff I think is owned by O2, works off there network but, operates completly separately.

Now why would I do this?

Well for £10 a month I get 250 cross network minutes, unlimited text messages unlimited free giffgaff to giffgaff calls and unlimited data. With no tie in. Once your goody bag that you buy has expired you can then either buy another, or you can top up and use credit.

They ported my number from Vodafone inside 12 hours and all was well.

So if your looking for a cheaper deal with blinding coverage click on one of the links on the right and get yourself a free sim. When you activate a sim acquired from one of those links we both get an extra £5 credit applied.

One side note is you cannot phone them up if you do have any problems. You have to open a message on the support forums. Now I have done this with great success. So I do not feel this to be a problem!

Flying Time

Wow, Its been almost six months since I last updated here!

How time fly’s when your having fun!

Bit of a nothing post this one, Just to let you all know that I’m still alive and kicking.

Will be back soon for a better update. (Maybe)

Wow a confession

I’ve got a bit of a confession to make. I’ve been planning for weeks to get a blog schedule together, posting every day between Monday and Friday. I was going to write these posts in the evenings and schedule them for 1pm every day.

However, a rather big something has decided to walk back into my life..well actually it was emailed into my life. A free World of Warcraft month long subscription.

Now I stopped playing WOW three years ago, when I realised it was taking up far to much of my life. I knew people in the guild that I was in at the time better then I new my real friends. I was loosing track of all things reality, sleep patterns went out the window as I was up until all hours questing and levelling. Then it hit me, cancel that subscription and get outside in the real world.

Now all of a sudden darned blizzard sent me a free trial on my old account, unbeknown to me and before I knew it, that month had passed and I was well and truly hooked again. In all honesty within days of re-entering the world I was addicted again.

When I first went back in my character was level 20, within a month I was level 61. Im now not only having to pay the £9 a month, I’ve had to order the latest versions to make sure I can keep levelling. Sad huh?!

There is a small benefit of all this i suppose, that is the fact it has kept my overdraft and myself out of the pub.

So, I would like to introduce you to my online alter ego “mebigguy” a level 60 human warlock.

Internet Browsing

I use Firefox as my main browser, as do many other people in the world. However I have 3 Google email accounts that I use – My personal account, my work account and my own business account. Now these all play along nicely most of the time, until you need to login to the admin panel of one of the domains, or I need to login to one of the other Google domain accounts that I administer for other people and companies.

This then causes Firefox to throw a massive wobbly and the only way around it is to completely clear the cache, cookies and logins. Then you need to re-login in the correct order of accounts so that you get your iGoogle (which is only setup on one account) back.

I tried to use Internet Explorer (spit) as the browser that I used to login to the domain admin panels, however even with “delete browsing history on exit” button ticked, with all the options also ticked. For some reason it still kept me logged into accounts, which was a major pain when I needed to login to another account on another domain.

I tried Google Chrome however this didn’t have an option to clear the cache etc. on exit. Until I discovered the Click&Clean extension. This enables you to clear the browsing history and cache on exit. With the massive added benefit that it actually works!

So fair play to google (or actually www.hotcleaner.com) although unless something dramatically changes chrome will not become my main browser, but (for now) it is installed on both my machines.

Count down to San Fran

I’ve decided I’m going to lose some weight before I go to America for Stuarts wedding. So i registered on runkeeper.com and am appalled at my inability to even run around the block. I was knackered after ten minutes and had to stop.

Admittedly I hadn’t had a drink before I went and had had quite a boozy night last night so was quite dehydrated. But I’m not going to make excuses for myself; I currently weigh 220lb (or 15.7 Stone) I want to get this down to around 13stone.

So the plan of action is: a run three times a week, every week increasing the distance. My first run was today and I managed a measly 0.76 miles. This was when I was on the verge of passing out, drenched in lager smelling sweat. Having been appalled by my fitness level, it’s no wonder I didn’t enjoy my extremely short time playing football at the beginning of the season!

Needless to say, I’m documenting all activities on runkeeper.com and will give periodic updates on the new healthy me!
